Build Week Five

We are now finished our fifth week of build season! Our robot is really coming along and we have made a lot of headway this week.
Build has been finalizing the practice robot and is starting to build the good competition robot. They are putting the finishing touches on the lift mechanism and we hope to have our first lift with the practice robot very soon. The shooter is pretty much done and is working really well! The storage for the power cells is being built and the cameras are being tested. The drive train is complete and the gear boxes for the final robot are being built. The mechanism for the colour wheel (control panel) is in the process of being built as well. We are in good shape for the coming week!
Software is working hard to get the robot programmed for drive to use. They have been working on the shooter and lift commands and have been testing out the practice robot on our practice field. The drive train code is pretty much done and working great! They have also been able to make use of the vision targets to orient the robot in the right direction for shooting on the power port.
Business has been preparing for the pancake breakfast that is coming up in two weeks. We are excited to welcome sponsors, parents and alumni to see what we've been doing all build season! They also submitted the Woodie Flowers Award essay this week.

Media has been taking photos and videos of our team hard at work. Their weekly videos are looking great!
Design has been finalizing the CAD of all the robot parts. Soon the parts for the final robot will be cut so the final robot can be built!

Make sure to check back next week for a week six update!
