STEMley 2024

Bright and early on October 19 our rookies traveled to St.Mary's High School to compete in a preseason competition. Our rookies had a blast, experiencing a competition for the first time.​

We had first time photographers and a rookie responsible for swapping batteries on the robots. We had a rookie operator, human player and a new driver. Our scouts were busy watching the competition, figuring out which robots we would work best with. Our rookies were able to visit pits, observe and participate in the fixing of the robot and they got to watch/participate in the trial and error process in fixing/reprogramming the robot. Right after lunch we held a scouting meeting to decide which robots we think we would work best with. Our rookies loved how much teamwork, communication and perseverance happened.  Our rookies learned that things don't always go to plan when it comes to robots and how important gracious professionalism and coopertition. Amazing off season competition enjoyed by all!
