WEEK 3WEEK 3This week was a challenging one for our students as we had our semester 1 exams. This means our students had to balance studying for their exams with their eagerness to come to robotics. Thankfully the team was still able to get lots done even with the stress of these exams. The electrical team has been hard at work, soldering distance sensors to be put on the robot. This was not an easy task as the sensors have many tiny parts that need to be soldered onto a board and the electrical team needed to make a lot of them. CAD is still finalizing the design of the robot and making some tweaks to the 3D model. Build on the other hand is taking the designs and starting to prototype the parts of the robot. They are running into all sorts of problems but they haven’t let themselves get discouraged. Instead they have overcome these challenges, making their robot better than ever! As you can see the team is still hard at work even with the added demand of exams. With this semester coming to an end the team is ready to work hard in semester 2. We can't wait! |
WEEK 2WEEK 2Time has been flying! The first two weeks have come and gone, but we have to keep looking forward as week three begins. Week two has really been exciting, and a great learning experience for rookies; especially considering most of our veterans have been incredibly busy with exams. Our education is always priority number one! Despite many challenges we continue to grow, learn and bond as a team. Anyone who was in high school knows how high nerves run the week before exams and yet we were able to work together to build, create and brainstorm some of our best ideas yet. On more of a technical note our software team has done loads of work on our vision system and drivetrain while our CAD team has created designs for our shooter, feeder, intake and storage mechanism. We are so proud of everyone on our team, and have made monumental progress for just finishing our second week. |
WEEK 1
WEEK 1
The Build season has officially begun! The first week of every build season is always the most exciting as this is when our team finds out this year's game and gets to discuss some strategy.
Kickoff took place on Saturday Jan 10th, at Woodland Christian Highschool. We met up with 9 other FRC teams participating in this year's game reveal. We had the opportunity to spend the first half of the day attending various seminars, sharing knowledge and learning something new to further succeed as a team. This year's game is called “Rebuilt”. The goal is to find, load, and shoot foam balls into a center ball drop.
Strategy meetings and design sessions have continued to solidify our final deigns and we have also has started building our practice field!
